Shipping and Refunds

Shipping, delivery, returns and refund information for Dutoit furniture and objects, including made-to-order products, freight and damaged goods.

Dutoit furniture and objects are made and dispatched from Australia. Shipping and delivery arrangements vary depending on the product, order size and delivery location.

-

Furniture Delivery — Australia

Furniture is generally delivered using specialist furniture carriers or blanket-wrapped removalist services.

Delivery costs are quoted separately and depend on the size of the order, delivery location, access requirements and any additional handling required.

For an accurate delivery quote, please provide the product, quantity and delivery postcode when requesting a quote.

Where appropriate, customers may arrange their own freight. The selected carrier must be suitable for transporting furniture and oversized or fragile items.

If a customer-arranged carrier is used, Dutoit’s responsibility for the order generally ends once the goods have been collected in good condition by that carrier. Any damage occurring while the goods are in the care of a customer-appointed carrier should be raised directly with the carrier. Dutoit can provide supporting documentation where required.

-

Objects — Australia

Objects may be available from stock or made to order.

In-stock products are dispatched once the order is ready for shipment. Made-to-order products are subject to the lead time confirmed at the time of order.

Delivery times vary depending on destination and carrier.

-

International Shipping

Dutoit ships to selected international destinations.

International freight is quoted individually based on the product, order size and delivery destination. Additional duties, taxes, customs charges or import fees may apply depending on the destination and are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed.

Contact Dutoit with your order details and delivery address to request an international freight quote.

-

Delivery Access

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information and ensuring suitable access for delivery.

Please advise Dutoit before confirming an order of any access restrictions, including stairs, lifts, narrow entrances, loading restrictions or other conditions that may affect delivery.

Additional delivery or handling charges resulting from undisclosed access conditions may be passed on to the customer where applicable.

-

Delivery Inspection and Transit Damage

We recommend inspecting products as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If your order appears to have been damaged in transit, contact hello@dutoit.studio promptly and provide:

your invoice or proof of purchase;
clear photographs of the product and affected area; and
photographs of the packaging where relevant.

Dutoit will assess the issue and advise the appropriate next steps.

Where Dutoit has arranged the freight, we will assist with the carrier and, where appropriate, arrange a repair, replacement or other remedy.

-

Delivery Delays

Lead times and delivery dates are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise.

Delays may occasionally occur due to manufacturing, freight, weather or other circumstances outside Dutoit’s reasonable control. If a significant delay affects your order, we will contact you with an update.

-

Order Changes and Cancellations

Dutoit products are made to order.

Requests to amend or cancel an order should be made as soon as possible after confirmation.

Once production, procurement or custom work has commenced, changes or cancellations may not be possible. Any approved changes may result in additional costs or revised lead times.

Custom or made-to-order products cannot be returned or refunded solely because of a change of mind.

This does not affect any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.

-

Change of Mind

Dutoit does not generally accept returns, exchanges or refunds for change of mind.

Please review product dimensions, finishes, materials and other specifications carefully before confirming your order.

Dutoit is not required to provide a refund or exchange for change of mind. This does not affect any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.

-

Faulty Products

If you believe a product has a manufacturing fault, contact the studio with proof of purchase, a description of the issue and clear photographs.

Dutoit may need to inspect or assess the product before confirming the appropriate remedy.

Depending on the nature of the issue and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, the remedy may include repair, replacement or refund.

For large, heavy or difficult-to-return faulty products, Dutoit will arrange collection or appropriate return transport where required. For other confirmed faulty products, reasonable return costs will be reimbursed where required.

-

Returns Process

Please contact the studio before returning any product.

Include your invoice or proof of purchase together with details and photographs of the issue.

Once the request has been reviewed, Dutoit will advise whether the product needs to be returned, collected, inspected or otherwise assessed.

Do not arrange return freight for furniture or other large items without first contacting Dutoit.

-

Warranty

Dutoit products include a 5-year structural warranty. Please refer to the Warranty page for full coverage, exclusions and claim information.

Warranty coverage is provided in addition to rights and remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.

-

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.

Consumer guarantees may apply where goods are faulty, unsafe, not of acceptable quality, not fit for purpose or do not match their description. Depending on the nature of the problem, remedies may include repair, replacement or refund.

Policy Updates

Dutoit may update this Shipping and Refunds policy from time to time. The terms applicable to an order are those in effect at the time the order is placed. Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
