Dutoit provides a 5-year structural warranty on furniture and objects, covering eligible defects in materials, workmanship and structural integrity under normal intended use.

This warranty applies in addition to any rights and remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law. Consumer guarantees cannot be excluded or replaced by a voluntary warranty.

Warranty Period
A 5-year structural warranty applies from the date of delivery to Dutoit products, including:

Coverage
The warranty covers eligible manufacturing defects in materials, workmanship and structural integrity under normal intended use.

Where a covered defect is confirmed, Dutoit will assess the appropriate remedy. Depending on the nature of the issue, this may include repair or replacement of the affected component or product.

Natural variation in materials, including differences in timber grain, colour, texture, casting characteristics and the development of patina, is not considered a manufacturing defect.

Powder-Coated Finishes
Powder-coated finishes are subject to normal wear and may scratch, chip, fade or change in appearance over time.

The warranty does not cover surface damage or deterioration resulting from normal wear, misuse, improper care, impact, abrasion or unsuitable environmental exposure.

Outdoor Products
Products intended for outdoor use should be maintained in accordance with Dutoit’s Product Care guidelines.

In coastal, marine, poolside or industrial environments, additional maintenance may be required due to increased exposure to salt, chemicals and airborne contaminants.

Corrosion, finish deterioration or other damage resulting from unsuitable environmental exposure or insufficient maintenance is not considered a manufacturing defect.

Upholstery, Cushions and Fabrics
Upholstered components, cushions and seat pads are covered for 12 months from delivery against manufacturing defects in workmanship and components, including covers, inserts, stitching and zips.

Fabric performance is subject to the applicable textile manufacturer’s warranty. For customer-supplied material (COM), Dutoit’s warranty applies to workmanship only.

Normal ageing and use, including gradual UV colour change, reduced water repellency, light creasing, wrinkling and softening of inserts, are not considered manufacturing defects.

Cushions should be allowed to drain and dry fully after rain or cleaning and stored dry when not in use. Salt, dirt and other contaminants should be removed regularly. Do not use solvents, bleach or pressure washing.

The upholstery warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, mildew caused by retained moisture, chemical transfer, storm or wind damage, improper storage, unsuitable environmental exposure or third-party fabric treatments not approved by Dutoit.

Natural Materials and Finishes
Solid timber and other natural materials may vary in colour, grain, tone and texture.

Timber may respond naturally to changes in temperature and humidity. Metal surfaces may develop patina or other changes in appearance over time.

Variations that are characteristic of the material or manufacturing process are not considered defects.

Damage or excessive material movement resulting from unsuitable environmental conditions or failure to follow care instructions is not covered by the Dutoit warranty.

General Exclusions
The warranty does not cover:

normal wear and tear;
cosmetic changes resulting from normal use;
scratches, chips, stains or surface damage occurring after delivery;
damage caused by misuse, neglect or improper installation;
failure to follow Dutoit Product Care instructions;
excessive moisture, humidity, heat, sunlight or unsuitable environmental exposure;
corrosion or finish deterioration resulting from corrosive environments where appropriate care has not been undertaken;
improper storage or handling;
unauthorised alterations, modifications or repairs;
natural variation in timber, metal or other materials;
accidental damage, fire, flood, storm or other external events.

These exclusions do not limit any rights a consumer may have under the Australian Consumer Law. ACCC

To make a warranty claim, contact hello@dutoit.studio as soon as reasonably possible after becoming aware of an issue.

Please provide:
proof of purchase;
a description of the issue; and
clear photographs showing the product and affected area.

Dutoit will assess the claim and contact you regarding the next steps.
